Volleyball Goes 3-0 In Final POD Of The Season

Broome completed their Region III POD play on Saturday at Tompkins Cortland CC with three wins to finish the regular season at 22-5 overall and 16-1 in Region III.   

The first win came in straight sets against Monroe with set scores of 25-11, 25-15, 25-17. Mackinzie Mee led the way offensively with 9 kills while Mckenzi Donahue, Paige Taylor, Rayna Pouliot, and Hannah Brown added 7 kills apiece.  Hannah Brown had a hitting percentage of .438, Brianna Kosinski totalled 35 assists and 15 digs while Donahue also had 15 digs, Taylor had 2 blocks and Mee added 4 aces. 

The second win came in a tough back and forth battle against Finger Lakes with a five set win by set scores of 23-25, 25-15, 25-22, 18-25, 18-16.  Mee had 17 kills and Pouliot had 11, Kosinski had 40 assists, 15 digs and 3 aces while Brown added 8 blocks.  Alyssa Hovey and Donahue contributed 26 digs a piece while Mee added 20.

In the 3rd win of the day, Broome came back to win 3-1 after dropping the opening set, set scores were 21-25, 25-16, 25-23, 25-22.  Mee totaled 19 kills and 17 digs, Taylor added 10 kills, 9 digs and 4 blocks, and Pouliot contributed with 2 aces and 15 digs.  Donahue and Kosinski chipped in with 19 digs a piece.

The Hornets will travel to Watertown next weekend for the MSAC Championships, hosted by Jefferson CC.
