Broome defeated Finger Lakes CC in the semifinals 3-1, and followed that with another 3-1 win in the finals against Jefferson CC on Saturday to capture the MSAC Championship, hosted by Onondaga CC.  Prior to the start of the semifinal match, Brianna Kosinski, Paige Taylor and Mackinzie Mee were named to the All Conference Team and Coach Eddinger was named Coach of the Year.

Broome started off their day with a semifinal win over Finger Lakes with a match score of 3-1 and set scores of 25-23, 15-25, 25-22, 25-16.  Mee led the offense with 16 kills and 3 aces, McKenzi Donahue had a season high of 33 digs, Kosinski had 31 assists and Taylor had 8 blocks.

In the championship match against Jefferson, Broome took the first two sets 25-19 and 25-21 before dropping the third set 21-25.  In the fourth set, Broome was down 8-14 before going on a 6 point run with 3 service aces by Mee to even the match 14-14 before the Hornets went on to win the final set 25-21 to capture the MSAC title.  Mee led the team with 15 kills and 6 aces and Rayna Pouliot tied her season high with 11 kills and also had 17 digs. Four other players had double digit digs led by Alyssa Hovey with 20, Donahue 18, Jessica Dye 13 and Kosinski 12.  Hannah Brown had 3 blocks and Taylor contributed a season high of 10 blocks.

At the conclusion of the match, Pouliot was named the tournament MVP. 

Broome will travel to Niagara Falls next weekend to compete in the NJCAA Region III Tournament where they earned a #2 seed.
