Volleyball Goes 1-1 On Day One of National Tournament

Broome volleyball fell to Queensborough CC 3-2 and swept Harrisburg Area CC 3-0 in day one of the 2018 NJCAA Division III Volleyball Championships, held at the UCR Regional Sports Center in Rochester, MN. 
 
Broome dropped its first round match to Queensborough in a five set match by set scores of 25-22, 18-25, 12-25, 25-23,7-15.  Mackinzie Mee led the offense with 9 kills, Brianna Kosinski had 21 assists and 4 aces, and four Hornets found themselves in the double digit column for digs.  Mckenzi Donahue led with 18, Mee had 16, Alyssa Hovey and Kosinski had 14 a piece.  
 
The Hornets continued on in the tournament against Harrisburg Area CC with a straight set win with set scores of 25-14, 25-22,25-11.  Paige Taylor And Mee each had 9 kills a piece, Kosinski had 29 assists and 3 aces, and Jessica Dye led the defense with 15 digs while Hovey and Donahue added 14 digs each. 

SUNY Broome will match up against Nassau CC in a bid for a 9th place finish at 12:00 P.M. CST.
