Broome Wins Tournament In Syracuse

Broome won the Cara Bryant Memorial Tournament on Saturday at Onondaga Community College, defeating all four teams they faced.  During pool play the Hornets went undefeated to earn the one seed going into the final match where they defeated Finger Lakes 2-0.  At the Conclusion of the tournament Brianna Kosinski was named Tournament MVP.

The first pool play match was a 2-1 win over Finger Lakes with set scores of 17-25, 25-10, 15-10.  Kylee Cunningham had 7 kills, 2 aces and 20 digs, Kosinski had 20 assists and Alexandra Bachura had 5 blocks.

The next match against Onondaga was a 2-0 win with scores of 25-19, 25-16.  Savannah Davis had 8 kills, Cunningham had 9 digs, Kosinski totaled 18 assists,  Bachura had 4 blocks and Madison Hadfield added 4 kills and 2 blocks.

The final pool play match was a 2-0 win over Cayuga 25-11, 25-9.  Macayla Greco led the offense with 7 kills, Cunningham and Kosinski had 3 aces apiece, Kosinski had 16 assists and Cunningham led the defense with 8 digs.

During the tournament championship match, Broome defeated Finger Lakes 2-0 with set scores of 25-17, 25-20.  Davis had 9 kills and 13 digs, Greco added 6 kills, Kosinski had 19 assists, Bachura, Kosinski and Cunningham had 2 aces each and Hadfield had 5 blocks.
