Volleyball Goes 2-1 In Genesee POD

Broome lost their first match of the day 3-0 against Monroe CC before a sweep of Genesee and a 3-1 win against Finger Lakes CC on Saturday.  The Hornets wrapped regional play with a record of 13-4.

Against Monroe they lost 3-0 with set scores of 15-25, 20-25, 17-25.  Kylee Cunningham led with 8 kills, Brianna Kosinski had 24 assists, Jessica Dye had 13 digs, and Alexandra Bachura had 8 blocks.

Broome bounced back with a 3-0 win over the host team by set scores of 25-18, 25-20, 25-20.  Cunningham led again with 9 kills while Savannah Davis and Macayla Greco added 8 kills each.  Kosinski totaled 6 aces and 33 assists, Davis led with 14 digs and Bachura added 4 blocks.

The final match of the day was a 3-1 win over Finger Lakes with set scores of 25-23, 25-21, 20-25, 25-8.  Madison Hadfield led the offense with a career high of 14 kills, during the match she only had 2 errors on the 22 attempts for a hitting percentage of .545.  She also added 2 blocks.  Kosinski totaled 41 assists, Marissa Cuozzo had 5 aces, Davis led with 22 digs, and Greco led with 5 blocks.

Broome will head to Watertown for the MSAC Tournament hosted by Jefferson CC next weekend.
