This is Coach Speen’s first season as Head Coach for SUNY Broome. She was promoted from the Associate Coach position that she held for five seasons (2016 – 2020). Coach Speen was a member of the team from 2013-2014. She was Team Captain for both seasons she played at SUNY Broome. As a player at Broome, Speen received recognition as NJCAA Player of the Week and stood 2nd in the nation in overall kills for the NJCAA. In 2014, she was named MSAC Conference Player of the Year. Currently, she holds the SUNY Broome Volleyball all-time record for kills/set. Prior to attending SUNY Broome, Speen played at Vestal High School. She also played for Buffalo State in 2015 before returning home and joining the coaching staff for SUNY Broome in 2016. As SUNY Broome’s Associate Coach, she helped in achieving two MSAC Conference Championships (2016 & 2018). In 2018, Coach Speen also assisted in leading the SUNY Broome Volleyball team to the NJCAA Regional Championship and 9th place finish in the National Tournament. During her time as an Associate Coach, she trained 10 players named to the All-Conference Team, 8 named to the All-Regional Team, and 1 player named All-American.
