The Hornets dropped a non-league contest to Northampton CC, 91-86 on Thursday night in the Baldwin Gymnasium.  Broome started strong, pulling out to a 10 point lead through the first 12 minutes of play before the NJCAA's 8th ranked Spartans would answer with an 8-0 run to pull within 2, and eventually tie the game at the half 38-38.

The second half was close all the way, with Broome trailing in the last few minutes by single digits.  The Hornets would cut the lead to three points with five seconds to play followed by a turnover to give the home team the ball.  The ensuing possession failed to convert a basket, and Northampton hit two free throws for a five point lead with two seconds to play, essentially ending the game.
