Men's Cross Country Captures MSAC Title

The men's cross country team won the MSAC Championship hosted by Finger Lakes CC on Saturday in Canandaigua. SUNY Broome finished with 33 points for the first place finish, Ononodaga CC placed second and Jefferson CC came in at the third spot. Alexander Whitney (Binghamton, NY/Susquehanna Valley) topped all runners with a time of 29:58 on the 5-mile course. Michael George (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Forks) finished in 5th with a time of 32:41 and Virgil Isenia placed 7th with a time of 33:23.

Whitney was named MSAC Runner of the Year and coach Tom Carter earned MSAC Coach of the Year honors. George and Isenia were also named to the All-MSAC Team for their efforts.

Next Saturday the Hornets will be back in Canandaigua for the Region III Cross Country Championships.
