Carmelo Alessandro is the SUNY Broome Student-Athlete of the Week for March 3 through March 9, 2025. Alessandro led the Hornets' offense in the season-opening doubleheader at Cuyahoga CC on Sunday, March 9. Alessandro was 2-6 on the weekend (.333 batting average), drove in four runs, and scored a run. Three of Alessandro's four RBI came in game one of the doubleheader when he crushed a three-run home run to left center field. He finished 1-3 at the plate in the first game and also went 1-3 with another RBI in the second leg of the doubleheader.
