Charles Larrabee, Men's Track & Field
Charles Larrabee of the men's track & field team is this week's SUNY Broome Student-Athlete of the Week. Over the weekend at the Utica Pioneer Spring Invite, Larrabee set a program record in the men's 100 meter dash. He finished the event in 11.57 seconds, which surpassed the previous record of 11.67 seconds set by his teammate Yuri Brich last season. Larrabee's time was just 0.05 seconds shy of the qualifying standard for the NJCAA National Championships, so Charlie looks poised to have the potential to compete in the event at Nationals later this season. In addition to setting the school record in the 100 meter, Larrabee was also one of three Hornets who surpassed the previous 200 meter dash record. Larrabee ran 23.86 seconds, just behind teammates Nevan Doubleday with 23.82 seconds and Lucas McPeak, who is now the new record holder, with 23.80 seconds.
