Khala Gray-Motto, Women's Track & Field

Khala Gray-Motto of the women's track & field team is this week's SUNY Broome Student-Athlete of the Week. The Hornets opened their 2025 season over the weekend at the Red Dragon Open hosted by SUNY Cortland, and Gray-Motto was a leading factor in the team's success at the invitational. Khala competed in the women's long jump and took 1st place overall in the event with a distance of 5.47 meters, which was almost a full half meter farther than the 2nd place finisher. Gray-Motto's 5.47 meters set a new SUNY Broome women's track & field record for the event, surpassing the previous high of 5.02 meters set in 2022.
