Women Struggle In MSAC Game

Turnovers plagued the Hornets on Saturday in a 76-47 MSAC home loss to Tompkins Cortland CC. The Panthers got out to a 15-11 first quarter lead and never looked backed en route to the 29 point win. SUNY Broome turned the ball over 25 times in the contest, contributing to the loss. Tompkins Cortland shot 50% from the field, ten of those made basket came from 3-point range. Brianna Lawrence had a game-high 16 points for the visitors.  Grace Doherty posted a collegiate best 16 points for Broome to go along with 2 assists, 2 steals and a block. Ana Farahane added 12 points, 10 boards and 4 assists. Graci Standish-Warpus also had 4 assists, and chipped in with 6 points and 5 rebounds.

Broome begins a 3-game road stretch on Monday in Watertown against Jefferson CC, scheduled for a 5:00 p.m. start.
