Hockey Team Rebounds With A Home Victory

The Broome men's hockey team (6-5, 3-2 Region III) skated to a 2-1 victory over the Cornell University Club Team in a non-league contest at the BCC Ice Center on Wednesday evening. All three goals were scored in a twelve minute span in the second period.

The Big Red got on the board first on a goal from Connor Fitzpatrick assisted by Matt Coster at the 13:25 mark. Eric Breed (Vestal/Vestal) tied it up at the 4:12 mark courtesy of assists from Trevor Barney (Vestal/Vestal) and MJ Maerkl (Hillcrest/Chenango Valley). Alec Morris (Olive Branch, MS/Southern Baptist Educational Center) found Alex Toppin (Tupelo, MS/Tupelo) skating down the left side with 1:28 left in the second for the final goal of the game.

The Hornets return to action on Saturday afternoon in Rochester at 4:00 p.m. when they face off against Monroe CC in a Region III hockey match.
