Men Win Last Home Match

Broome scoring goal
vs TC3

The men's soccer team defeated Tompkins Cortland CC 6-2 on Alumni Field Wednesday night in their last home match of the 2022 season. Yuri Brich, Mateo Lata and Nathaniel Wojcik led the Hornets to victory during the last home game of the fall season.

Lata opened the scoring three minutes into the match from a through ball from Wojcik after beating his defender and placing the ball past the goal keeper from 12 yards out. The Panthers struck back five minutes later with an equalizer making the match 1-1. The duo of Lata and Wojcik struck again fourteen minutes later in the same fashion and the host team never looked back. Yuri Brich was too much for the defensive efforts of the Panthers, he took over the scoring for the Hornets finding the back of the net  on his next three tries with assists from Aaron Salisbury and Lata. Jack Dyson scored the final home goal of the season for the Hornets in the 78th minute of play beating the Panther keeper on a breakaway. Eric Yingling had another phenomenal game in goal with 5 saves while seeing 7 shots.

Broome will play their last match of the season in Batavia against Genesee CC this Saturday, scheduled for a 3:30 P.M. start.
