Broome split both games of their doubleheader against SUNY Adirondack on Saturday afternoon in Queensbury, taking the opener 11-10, and falling in game two 13-12.  Both games took extra innings to decide the outcome.  The Hornets trailed 9-8 after six innings of play before scoring 2 runs on back-to-back singles from Courtney George and Madison Lapinski, followed by a two-out single from Keyairra Woolfolk in the top of the seventh for the 10-9 lead. The Timberwolves plated a run in the bottom of the seventh to tie it up at 10-10.  Pursuant to the International Tie Breaker rule, Broome started the inning with McKenna Wheaton on second base where she advanced to third on Laurel Pernesky-Currier's fly out to right field and scored on a single, coutesy of Taylor Voorhis.  Adirondack couldn't answer the run by Broome in the bottom of the inning.  Five Broome players had a multi-hit game led by Woolfolk, Lapinski and Pernesky-Currier with three hits apiece.  Courtney George and Taylor Voorhis each had two hits in the game, including a triple from George, and a double from Voorhis.

Game two was another close one that needed an extra inning to decide the outcome.  The Hornets fell on the short end despite all nine players picking up at least one or more hits, and totalling nineteen hits in all.  Leading the way with three hits apiece were George, Lapinski, Abby Mancini and Saralyn Lee, followed by Taylor Christensen and Voorhis with two hits each.  George hit her second triple of the day, scored three times and had three RBIs.  The Hornets move to 6-4 in Region III play and 2-0 in the MSAC.

Sunday's game against Genesee CC has been moved to Sunday, April 28th scheduled for 1:00 P.M. and 3:00 P.M. due to weather in Batavia.  Up next is a doubleheader in Auburn on Tuesday against the Spartans from Cayuga CC with game one beginning at 3:00 P.M. at the Herman Avenue Softball Complex.
