Women's Tennis Remains Undefeated

SUNY Broome (3-0) captured two of the three doubles competitions and then took Nos. 2 thru 5 in the singles to come away with a 6-3 Region III women's tennis victory at home on Friday afternoon against Herkimer County CC. Ali Krowiak lost a tough three set match 7-6 in the third set at No.1 singles that lasted over 2 hours. No. 2 Emily Denney (6-2, 6-3), No.3 Hillahn Steika (6-1, 6-4), No.4 Lindsey Crawford (6-3, 6-0), and No.5 Yelena Yevsina (6-3, 6-1) all increased their records to 3-0 in singles play.  Yevsina stepped it up to play No.1 doubles and got the win with Denney 8-3.  Steika and Crawford won at No.2 8-0. Up next for the Hornets is a match is at Onondaga CC on Tuesday, September 18th at 4:00 p.m.
