Women Achieve Early-Season Success With Postseason-Qualifying Results

The women's track and field team participated in the SUNY Geneseo Early Season Invitational over the weekend.

Two members of the team achieved results which qualified them for the Regional and National Championships later this year.

Aja Jackson placed 12th overall in the 10,000 meter run with a time of 42:18.21. This time met both the Regional and National Championships qualification standards. 

Ava Schiff participated in many events over the course of the invitational. Schiff ran the 100 meter hurdles in 19.6 seconds which qualified her for Regionals and Nationals. She also ran the 200 meter in 32.06 seconds. Schiff reached 4.19 meters in the long jump which met the Regional qualification standard. Her mark of 9.75 meters in the triple jump allowed her to qualify for the Region III Championships and National Championships. Finally, she recorded 8.23 meters on the shot put which met the Regional qualification standard.

Leivis Erazo measured 3.94 meters on the shot put and ran the 100 meter in 19.46 seconds. Riley Precourt ran the 100 meter in 15.81 seconds and ran the 200 meter in 32.79 seconds. 

The team will next compete in the Utica University Invitational on Saturday, April 6th.
