The women's cross country team took top honors at the MSAC XC Championship hosted by Corning CC on Saturday morning at The Y at Watson Woods. Aja Jackson (20:21.20) placed first and Claudia Chermak came in third (22:27.20) to lead the Hornets. Jackson's win was a dramatic finish for the freshman, she came from ten seconds behind Finger Lakes' Leah Lloyd to close the gap in the last half mile and sprinted past her in the last 100 yards.
Broome is off until next weekend when they travel to Canandaigua for the Region III Championships hosted by Finger Lakes CC.
