A slow offensive start doomed the Hornets in their Saturday afternoon Region III contest against visiting Herkimer College, falling to the Generals 76-56. Herkimer (7-0) who sits atop both the NJCAA and Region III polls, opened up an early double digit lead and held Broome in single digits for almost ten minutes into the game. The first half ended with a 44-20 advantage for Herkimer.
Broome won the second half 36-32, at times getting the lead to under 20 points but was not able to muster enough offense for a serious comeback attempt.
Frank Richards scored 11 points and made the Hornets only 3 point shot of the day. Jalin Pitts also scored in double digits with 10 and added 10 rebounds for his 3rd straight double-double to go along with his 3 blocks. Cameron Irving-Miller contributed 9 points, 3 assists, and 2 steals while teammate Andrew Charles grabbed 9 boards to go along with his 4 points.
Broome returns home for their next contest on Wednesday, December 1st to face another Region III opponent, Mohawk Valley CC at 8:00 P.M.
