SUNY Broome men's basketball standout player Jean Senatus, who graduated in the Spring of 2024, will attend Algoma University to further his academic and athletic endeavors.
Algoma University is a college located in the city of Sault Ste. Marie in the province of Ontario, Canada. The university offers men's and women's basketball, cross country, curling, soccer, nordic skiing, and wrestling.
The Algoma Thunderbirds compete under a governing body of Canadian collegiate athletics called U Sports, the U standing for University. The league represents 58 Canadian universities. Within U Sports, there are multiple divisions, and the Thunderbirds reside in the division called OUA, which stands for Ontario University Athletics.
Senatus averaged 11.9 points and 6.4 rebounds per game in the 2023-24 season for SUNY Broome. Additionally, he shot over 80% from the free-throw line, shot 37.5% from three-point range, and led all of NJCAA Division III in regular season field goal percentage at 70.9% from the field.
