Volleyball Splits Pod At Fulton-Montgomery CC

This weekend the volleyball team traveled to Johnstown to play Fulton-Montgomery CC and Jefferson CC. They finished 1-1.

Broome's match against undefeated and #1 ranked Fulton-Montgomery resulted in a 3-1 loss. The Raiders secured the victory by set scores of 25-12, 21-25, 25-16, and 25-20. Casie Kephart led the Hornets with 12 kills and nine digs. Gabriella Bishop also tallied nine digs, in addition to four kills. Kate Spencer provided four kills and seven digs. Jaylen Bennett notched five kills, seven digs, and tallied the only solo block of the match for Broome. Katarina Frommert led the Hornets in aces with two, while Anna Tiberia collected a team-high 26 assists.

The Hornets would improve to 1-1 on the weekend with a 3-2 victory over Jefferson CC. Broome won the match by set scores of 25-20, 23-25, 25-22, 23-25, and 15-11. Three Hornets achieved double-doubles in the match, including Frommert with 14 kills and 12 digs, Kephart with 11 kills and 18 digs, and Tiberia with 42 assists and 12 digs. Bennett was a third Hornet with double-digit kills, tallying 12. She also collected a solo block and assisted block. Bishop had a team-high five aces in the win. 

Broome improves to 11-8 overall on the season, and 10-4 in Region III play.
