The Hornets traveled to Elmira and took on the Elmira College JV team Saturday afternoon and returned with a 9-2 victory.  After being down 1-0 early in the 1st period Austin Bradish (Beekmantown, NY/Beekmantown) opened the scoring for the hornets on a pass from Cory Della Stua (Pittsford, NY/Rush-Henrietta). Della Stua scored the go ahead goal at the 18 minute mark of the 1st period, and from that point on the Hornets didn't look back.

The Hornets scored four 2nd period goals. Freshman Matthew Evans (Binghamton, NY/Windsor) tipped in a shot from Zachary Carapellatti (Portville, NY/Portville) on a power play, followed by another power play by Alex Whitehair (Hilton, NY/Hilton) when he scored on  loose puck in front of the net.  Bradish and Della Stua both finished the scoring in the 2nd period with their second goals of the game.

Tyler Zweig (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Forks) opened the scoring in the 3rd period with his first goal of the season on an assist from Kyle Bisonette (Chazy, NY/Beekmantown) and Della Stua.  Elmira scored their second goal of the game with 5 minutes remaining in the period. The Hornets answered right back when Cameron Dunn (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) scored on a pass from Josh Maus (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Forks). Randy Bushnell (Dryden, NY/Dryden) scored the 9th Hornets goal on a pass from Maus and Evans.

Kyle Fragola (Bellmore, NY/Mepham) stopped 17 of the 19 Elmira shots to earn his 2nd win of the season. Della Stua finished the game with 2 goals and 3 assists, Bradish had 2 goals, Evans had a goal and an assist, Bisonette had  2 assists and Maus had 3 assists

The hornets face Hobart on Sunday.
