Men's Lacrosse Team Advances To Regional Quarterfinals

The men's lacrosse team defeated Tompkins Cortland CC 13-12 in a thrilling triple overtime game Tuesday afternoon in Dryden, NY. SUNY Broome, the #9 seed will face #1 seed Onondaga CC at 4:00 p.m. tomorrow in Syracuse.

Sophomore Michael Ferranti (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) led the Hornets with 5 goals and 1 assist, including the game-winning goal. Freshman Ryan Corey (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Valley) scored all 3 of his goals in the fourth quarter. Sophomores Michael Doll (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Forks) and Austin Standish-Warpus (Whitney Point, NY/Whitney Point) also added 2 goals each while Freshman Brandon Dutcher (Chenango Forks, NY/Chenango Forks) scored one goal assisted by Jacob Green (Binghamton, NY/Chenango Forks). On the Defensive end, Freshman goalie Nicholas Figuerado (Owego, NY/Owego Free Academy) had 25 saves for the Hornets, including 4 saves throughout all three periods overtime. Freshman Salen Turkovic (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) had an outstanding game, not letting TC3's leading scorer have one point the entire game.

DeShawn White of TC3 led his team with 7 goals and 1 assist. The Panthers season came to an end with a record of 6-8 while Hornets improved to 5-8 and extend their season for at least another day.
