Baseball Team Goes 2-2 Against Jamestown CC Over The Weekend

The baseball team split both doubleheaders this weekend against Jamestown CC. On Saturday the Hornets split with visiting Jamestown losing the opener 8-6 and winning game two 1-0. In the opening game Josh Hodges (Johnson City, NY/Johnson City) and Alex Yarton (Geneseo, NY/Geneseo) each had three hits for the Hornets. In the second game of the doubleheader Yarton pitched a three-hit shutout to earn the win.

On Sunday the Hornets (8-15) again split with the Jayhawks losing game one 3-2 and picking up the 7-5 win in game two. Broome held a 2-0 lead in the first game before giving up three runs in the sixth inning to erase the 2-0 lead. In game two Ben Payton (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta) broke the 5-5 tie in the eighth with an RBI single. Jared Decker (Port Crane, NY/Harpusville) went 2-3 with two RBIs to lead the Hornets in the 7-5 win.

Broome travels to Erie CC this Tuesday for a doubleheader in Buffalo with the Kats.
