Baseball Team Comes Up Short Against Region's Top Ranked Team

The baseball team came up short against Region III's top ranked team, Erie CC, dropping the first game 2-0 and the second game 6-3 Thursday afternoon at Hornet Field in Binghamton. In the opener Todd Cutting (Johnson City, NY/Johnson City) pitched a complete game allowing nine hits and two runs. In the nightcap Jake Burachalk (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) had three hits while teammates Josh Hodges (Johnson City, NY/Johnson City) and Alex Yarton (Geneseo, NY/Geneseo) each had two hits and drove in a run.

The Hornets fall to 8-19 overall and 6-12 in Region III and will host Finger Lakes CC this Saturday with the first pitch of the doubleheader scheduled to be thrown at 1:00 p.m.
