Broome split with Jamestown CC on Thursday at Bolivar-Richburg Central School, winning game one of the twin bill 8-4 before dropping the second 13-12.

In game one, the Hornets stole the lead from the Jayhawks in the sixth inning when Jack Symons singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run and breaking the 4-4 tie. Broome racked up 14 hits in the contest including doubles by Jaden Bongiorno, Mitchell Taylor, Tanner Russin and Ethan Pastrick, and a triple from Tyler Kopolow. Bongiorno led the Hornets with three hits in four at bats. Taylor earned the victory on the mound, he lasted five innings, allowing six hits and four runs while striking out three and Cody Lewis threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen, recording the last six outs to earn the save.

A late score by Jamestown was costly for Broome in game two of the twin bill. The Hornets held a 12-9 through five innings of play before giving up four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning. The Hornets collected thirteen hits and the Jayhawks had sixteen in the high-scoring affair. Broome went yard twice in the contest, the first coming in the third inning off the bat of Russin and the second, also in the third, courtesy of Kopolow. Taylor, Jacob Garey, Russin, Kopolow and Justin Fleming each racked up multiple hits for Broome. The sure-handed Hornets didn't commit a single error in the game with Fleming making the most plays with four. Symons started on the mound for Broome and went three innings, allowing four runs on seven hits and striking out one. Fleming took the loss for the visitors, the righthander went one-third of an inning.

Broome has a ten day stretch before returning to the diamond to face Tompkins Cortland CC at Hornet Field on Sunday, April 24th beginning at noon.
