Broome dropped four games to Genesee CC over the weekend, two in Batavia 14-0 and 15-5, and two at home 4-1 and 5-4.

On Saturday the Cougars jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first and were never threatened in the contest. The Hornets had just one hit in the five inning game, that hit came off the bat of Jaden Bongiorno. James Grausgruber took the loss on the mound for the visitors. Game two started the same way with Genesee getting out to an early lead and scoring runs in every inning. The bats continued to remain silent for Broome with Ethan Pastrick, Nate Bennett and Justin Fleming collecting one hit each in the game. Jack Symons picked up the loss for Broome.

Game one on Sunday was a continuation of the games in Batavia with Genesee keeping the Broome bats silent. Mitchell Taylor logged the only hits for broome, both singles. Pastrick came up short on the mound to pick up the loss. The tide finally started to change for the Hornets in the nightcap for the Hornets as they picked up ten hits in the game, four more than the previous three games combined. Broome held a 4-3 lead going into the last inning only to have Genesee answer with two runs in the top half of the seventh for the win. Tyler Kopolow had two hits in the game, both doubles and Jamie McWherter also posted a multi-hit game with two singles. Jacob Garey, Bongiorno, Taylor, Tanner Russin, Bennett and Pastrick all singled. Fleming got the nod for the start and went four and one third innings, followed by Cody Lewis and Bongiorno with the latter tagged for the loss.
