Broome Falls To Binghamton In 3rd Annual Presidents Cup

SUNY Broome fell to Binghamton University in the 3rd annual Presidents Cup 5-2 Thursday evening at the Ice Center on campus. Joe Posillico lead the Bearcats offense with two goals and two assists, while Peter Russo chipped in a pair of goals and an assist. The Hornets offense was led by Sean Marean and Jordan Broughton, both of Binghamton, with a goal and an assist each.

Christopher McVannan was busy again in goal for the Hornets, turning away 43 of 48 shots in a hard fought, but losing effort. Ryan Gallagher picked up the win for the Bearcats, stopping 23 of 25. 

It was a physical contest, with the two teams combining for 63 penalty minutes. Broome's Samuel Cammilleri, as well as Binghamton's Cam Krug and Dan Lindstrom all took DQ's in the game, for spearing, fighting and kneeing respectively. 

The Hornets now turn their attention towards Erie CC, as the two square off in NJCAA Region III action Saturday at the HarborCenter in Buffalo. Puck drop is scheduled for 2:15 p.m
