SUNY Broome Baseball Welcomes New Head Coach

New Baseball Head Coach Seve Kowalski

Seve Kowalski has been hired as the new Head Coach of the baseball team.

Kowalski is a native of Clinton, NY where he attended Clinton High School and was a captain of his high school baseball team, where he was named a first-team Center State Conference member for both pitching and hitting in his senior year of high school. 

Kowalski was previously the top Assistant Coach at SUNY Poly, where last season, he was instrumental in leading the Wildcats to their most wins in the program since 2016. Kowalski has additional coaching experience across six years with an independent summer baseball league in Utica, NY. Managing a team of 14-17 year olds, Kowalski won the league championship in five of six seasons, and turned in two undefeated seasons at 21-0 and 19-0, respectively. An undefeated season had never been achieved before in the league's history. 

A former standout student-athlete, Kowalski played two seasons of baseball at Herkimer College from 2012-2014, where he was named a team captain and led the Generals to the 2014 NJCAA Division III World Series in Tyler, Texas and finished 3rd place in the country. After playing a season of Division 1 baseball at Canisius, Kowalski finished his collegiate career at SUNY Brockport where he became a two-year team captain and finished tied for 3rd place all-time in saves in a career in Brockport history.
