The men's cross country team won the MSAC XC Title for a fourth year in a row on Saturday, and Broome was recognized for their team success with multiple individual accolades.

The Hornets placed four runners in the top 10 of the race en route to claiming the conference title over runner-up Onondaga CC. Broome finished with 24 points to Onondaga's 31. The team was led by Joseph Chermak with a third place overall finish in the race and a time of 32:13. Chermak is the brother of three-time All-Region III performer Claudia Chermak who had a rich history with the women's cross country team in her time at Broome. Cole Farley was not far behind for the Hornets, finishing 2nd on the team and 6th in the race with a time of 34:47.8. Aiden Cavanaugh added a 9th place finish with a time of 38:55.1 and Jesse Smith rounded out the top 10 of the race with a time of 39:13.2. Samuel Labare finished the scoring for Broome with a top-15 finish and a time of 49:01.4

This fourth consecutive MSAC XC Title is a remarkable feat for Broome considering that the Hornets graduated many members of a two-time defending MSAC and Region III Champion team last year but could still pull it off. This speaks to the continuity and consistency of the team.

In addition to the team championship, multiple individual accomplishments were celebrated on Saturday. Chermak and Farley were named to the All-MSAC Men's XC Team.

The Hornets will use yet another strong performance at the MSAC meet to push them toward a potential third straight Region III Championship. Broome will be in Canandaigua, NY on Saturday, October 28 for the Region III Cross Country Championships hosted by Finger Lakes CC. The women will race at 10:30 a.m. and the men will follow at 11:15 a.m.
