The women's basketball team took a 7 point lead into halftime only to see it slip away in the second half, falling to Tompkins Cortland CC on Thursday evening by a score of 68-62. The Hornets went up 31-24 after two quarters before the Panthers took a 45-44 lead at the end of the third thanks in part to Karissa Wilbur's three 3-pointers. Tompkins Cortland extended their lead in the fourth just enough to keep it out of reach for Broome.

Broome saw three players in double figures led by Sophia Dutra's 16 points. Ava Eichler filled the stat lines with 12 points, 5 assists, 3 steals and a block, and Abby Lyon came off the bench for 10 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Gwendolyn Payne chipped in with 9 points and Ghia Medovich led Broome with 12 rebounds.

The Hornets travel to Herkimer CC on Saturday and return home on Sunday to face Mohawk Valley, both tip at 1:00 P.M.
