The Women's Volleyball team opened up the 2012 season last night with a 3-1 win over MSAC foe Cayuga. The Hornets fell behind in the first game 10-15 before going on a 15-4 run. The run was led by Chelsea Graham's six consecutive points including two aces to give the Broome a 25-19 victory. The Spartans took the second game from the hosts 22-25. Serving in the third game was once again key as the Hornets cruised to a 25-13 win. In the fourth and final game it was Graham once again to lead Broome with seven consecutive points en route to a 25-20 win. Stat leaders for Broome were Johanna Stark and Marissa Pierce with 7 kills each, Ciara Campagna with 22 assists, Graham added 6 aces, Pierce had 2 blocks and Jenna Dodd contributed to the winning cause with 8 digs. Broome will host Davis College this Friday at 6:00 p.m. in the West Gym.
