SUNY Broome fell by scores of 24-26, 25-18, 23-25, 25-11 and 11-15 to go to 2-1 on the season. After leading the entire first set, five missed serves lead to a 24-26 loss in game one. With only one missed serve in the second game the hornets fought back winning game two 25-18. Game three went back and forth the entire set before Corning served up four points including game point to win 25-23. Game four was another see saw battle until Maria Jaramillo registered two blocks immediately upon entering the game. Jaramillo followed that up with three straight service points pulling Broome ahead for good en route to the 25-23 victory. The shortened 15 point fifth game found the Hornets on the short end falling to the Red Barons 11-15.

The Hornets were led by sophomores Chelsea Graham (8 kills), Sam Schou (4 aces), Ciara Campagna (31 assists) and Caitlin Axtell (17 digs). Freshman libero Jenna Dodd anchored the Hornet serve reception passing 50% of the opponents serves.

Broome heads to Corning on Saturday at 10am in a Region III POD match where they will take on Cayuga, Jefferson, and Onondaga.
