Broome opened up their season on Wednesday evening in the West Gym and came away with a sweep by set scores of 25-20, 25-22, and 25-21. The Hornets took the first set 25-20 and then found themselves down 17-3 in the second set before Marissa Cuozzo (Bainbridge Guilford) rallied the home team with an 8-point service run to help the Hornets come back to win 25-22. Broome controlled the third set with a score of 25-21.
Savannah Davis (Union-Endicott) led the offense and defense with 14 kills, 17 digs, and 2 aces. Brianna Kosinski (Binghamton) totaled 29 assists and contributed 12 digs. Kylee Cunningham (Johnson City) added 9 kills and 11 digs while Jessica Dye (Norwich) added 13 digs. Alexandra Bachura (Johnson City) contributed 4 solo blocks.
The Hornets will take on the Lazers from Onondaga CC next Wednesday in a MSAC match beginning at 6:00 P.M. in the Wset Gym.
