Bats Go Cold In Syracuse

Player sliding into 3rd
@ Onondaga

Another cold and rainy afternoon found Broome on the short end of both games against Onondaga CC on Thursday, falling in game one 3-0, and game two 8-2. The Hornets managed only five hits between the two games, two in the opener and three in the nightcap.

The Lazers shutout the Hornets in game one, only getting one hit each from Torin Lawrence and Matthew Meleski. Ethan Pastrick had another great day on the mound as he went five innings, only giving up one earned run.

Game two was much of the same as the Hornets could only muster up three hits but did plate two runs in the contest. Cameron Tom, Meleski and Trevor Dennison each had a hit in the contest. Tom went the distance on the mound for Broome, pitching well enough to keep his team within striking distance, but ultimately errors doomed the Hornets allowing Onondaga to score six unearned runs. Broome falls to 4-26 on the season and Onondaga improves to 16-20.

Broome heads into their last series of the year, taking on SUNY Adirondack Saturday in Queensbury before returning home on Sunday for a twinbill beginning at noon with the same Timberwolves.
