Baseball Has Rough Outing
Broome lost all four games to SUNY Adirondack over the weekend, 6-0 and 6-5 in Queensbury on Saturday, and 12-0 and 20-1 on Sunday at the Edwin C Daub Field here on campus.

On Saturday the Hornets had great pitching and timely hitting throughout the day but it was not enough as the Timberwolves took both games with the second game going into extra innings. Joseph Miller went the distance in game one, only giving up four earned runs but was bested by Adirondack's Terel Tillman who only allowed 3 hits, one each by Cameron Tom, Trevor Dennison and Miller. Game two was a back and forth battle. Both teams went back and forth with the lead with the Hornets taking a two run lead late. Unfortunately the Timberwolves scored three unanswered runs in the bottom of the 8th on a walk off HR. Torin Lawrence went five strong innings only giving up four earned runs but received the no decision. Broome's offense was able to rebound from the opener with eleven hits. Eight Hornets recorded hits with Tom, Dennison and Anthony Benson getting two two hits apiece. Benson and Thomas Ricci also collected two RBI base hits each.
On Sunday, what started out as a day honoring baseball's second year student athletes with good vibes abound, were unfortunately wasted as twelve errors were committed in two games by Broome. The Timberwolves came in not needing the help but took full advantage with both games ending in the run rule. Ethan Pastrick got the start in game one and was thrown off track in the first inning as the Timberwolves scored ten runs with some big hits and a slew of errors. Pastrick went on to to pitch three scoreless innings and completed his stint giving up six earned runs. Cody Lewis got the nod in game two and was only able to throw three innings as the Timberwolves did not miss. Offensively, the Hornets could only come up with four hits and one run in the game. Miller and Dennison finished their season on a high note with two hits apiece.
Broome winds up the season with a 4-30 record and Adirondack improved to 22-23.
