Chermak Leads Men's Cross Country In First Race Of Season

This invitational marked the start of the regular season for the team, as the team was not able to compete in the Frank Dillon Memorial invite at Le Moyne on August 31.
Instead, Chermak kicked things off for the men on Saturday, taking home 13th place out of 57 runners. Chermak had a time of 32:30.6.
The next Hornet to finish was Zavien Ruhana, who logged a top-20 finish by coming in at 20th place with a time of 34:03.9. Jacob Zajdel and Lucas McPeak came in back-to-back with 46th and 47th place finishes, notching respective times of 41:39.0 and 42:01.2. Demetrius Wilson finished it off for the Hornets, just missing a top-50 finish by coming in at 51st place with a time of 43:46.3.
The team finished sixth out seven scoring-eligible teams, coming in a spot ahead of NJCAA Region III foe Herkimer College.
The men will get back to work in just under two weeks with the SUNY Polytechnic Invitational on September 28.
