The men's cross country team will compete in the 2024 NJCAA Region III Cross Country Championships on Saturday.

The Region III Championship meet is hosted by Herkimer College.

The team is coming off a performance in the Mid-State Athletic Conference Championships last weekend with which it earned 2nd place, behind Onondaga CC.

The Hornets' lead runner, Joseph Chermak, secured 5th place in that race with a time of 20:16.0. While the MSAC meet was a 5K distance for the men, the Region III meet will be an 8K. That distance still projects well for the team and Chermak, however, as he took 7th place overall at last year's Region III Championship, which was also a distance of 8K.

In recent history, the Hornets won the NJCAA Region III Championship in 2019, 2021, and 2022.
