The soccer team traveled to Syracuse on Saturday and came home with a 6-0 win against Onondaga CC before returning home on Sunday and falling to Mohawk Valley CC 2-0 on Alumni Field.

Broome appeared to be in control from the beginning, working the ball in and around the Lazers defensive third but failed to convert on a few opportunities. Carly Hein had an eye-catching save in net for the Hornets and Arianna Michitti finished a free kick awarded on a foul at the 24 yard mark in the 7th minute of play in what proved to be the game winner.

The second half was much like the first half with the Hornets controlling the time of possession but this time converting on their opportunities. Avery Kenyon found the back of the net in the 47th minute to start a succession of Broome goals. Maci Spencer added a goal at 55:41 before Emily Kane added two goals at 71:24 and 75:55, both from the area of the 6 yard box. Eliza Way finished the scoring with a hard fought, opportune goal at the 79:12 mark.

Sunday saw Broome fall to #3 Mohawk Valley CC by a score of 2-0 on Alumni Field. The match was hard fought from start to finish by both teams with neither team able to capitalize on their chances.

It took 78 minutes for the first score of the contest and 11 minutes later the Hawks struck again, ending any chances of a Hornet comeback against the visitors.

Keeper, Carly Hein had several spectacular saves in the contest to keep the match close and tallied seven in all for her first loss of the season.

Broome will take the week off before returning to Alumni Field for a 1:00 P.M. kick off against Jamestown CC on Saturday.
