The women's soccer team hosted Erie CC over the weekend and tied the Kats, 1-1.
After a scoreless first half in which both sides traded chances, the breakthrough came in the 66th minute when Erie capitalized on a SUNY Broome turnover and slotted home the opening goal.
The Hornets responded with intensity, pressing forward and creating pressure. In the 84th minute, Adrianna Finta drove downfield and fired a shot that was parried away by the Erie goalkeeper. Katelynn DuBois secured the rebounded, driving it into the net to level the match at 1-1.
The Kats had one last chance with under 15 seconds remaining in the contest, but SUNY Broome goalkeeper Madeline Hyzer kept the tie in tact with a save.
SUNY Broome outshot Erie 14-11 in the draw. Hyzer made six key saves to anchor the Hornets defensively.
