Kyle Welsh returned to SUNY Broome to take the head coaching position after former coach Corey Behlen resigned at the end of the 2015 season. Welsh led the Hornets in 2005 and 2006 as the team Captain to back to back top 10 finishes in the country. In the 2004/2005 season the Hornets placed 8th and in 2005/2006 they placed 9th according to the NJCAA's final polls.
