The Hornets picked up their second win in three days, Monday's contest was a 53-52 victory in Canandaigua against the Lakers from Finger Lakes CC. The MSAC matchup, rescheduled from January 6th, played out a lot like the matchup played at Broome on January 29th with the Hornets coming out on top 54-50. Broome held the lead all but once in the first half, taking a 15-12 lead after the first quarter and a 26-24 lead at the end of two. The second half saw the lead change six times and tied four times. The Lakers answered every run the Hornets had to keep the game in check. Despite not connecting on a basket the last 3:19 of the game, and the host team coming within one point with 31 seconds left, the Hornets were able to run out the clock and escape Putt Moore Gymnasium with the win.

Ava Eichler was the lone Hornet in double digits with 26 points to go with her 9 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals. Dana Stepp added 7 points, all in the second half, 6 boards, 5 assists and a steal to her totals and Gwendolyn Payne and Melissa Carden totaled 6 points each. Brooke Ladd and Carden had 13 rebounds each while the former added 4 assists to her stat line.

Broome improved to 11-8; 7-4 MSAC with four games remaining in the regular season. The first of those four will be a 6:00 P.M. matchup against the Red Barons from Corning CC this Wednesday in the Baldwin Gymnasium. The Hornets will look to avenge a 58-38 loss to the Red Barons back on January 19th in Corning.
