The women's tennis team squeaked out a win at the SUNY Broome Tennis Courts  today against the Mohawk Valley Hawks 5-4.


Singles:

3. Molly Secord (Broome) def. Taylor Scalzo (MVCC) 6-0 6-2
4. Samantha Tassey (Broome) def. Mikayla David (MVCC) 6-2 6-0
5. Olivia Borihane (Broome) def. Madelynn Badger 1-6 6-2 (10-7)
6. Yuliya Savillo (MVCC) def. Stephanie Senat (Broome) 6-3 6-2

Doubles:

1. Roberts/Fallon(MVCC) def. O'Geen/Mott (Broome) 5-5 default
2. Secord/Tassey (Broome) def. Scalzo/Stephanie Calhoun (MVCC) 8-0
3. Tina Le/Cheyenne Smith (MVCC) def. Borihane/Senat 8-3

Last time Mott played against Mohawk she needed three sets to earn the victory, today she only dropped three games.  Secord and Tassey both dominated their opponents and remain undefeated in both singles and doubles for the regular season. Senat played much better this match but still came up short losing in two sets.  Borihane had a great comeback win today after being soundly beaten in the first set to pull it out in a third set match tie break. Borihane's win sealed the victory for the Hornets today.

The Hornets face SUNY Delhi on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. in Binghamton.
