Volleyball Goes 1-2 In Corning

The volleyball team traveled to Corning today for the Red Barons POD tournament and went 1-2 on the day. In the first match of the day against Jamestown CC Broome was swept by set scores of 15-25, 18-25, 16-25. The Hornets rebounded against Erie CC and won 3-2 by set scores of 25-14, 25-23, 17-25, 19-25, 16-14. In the final match of the day against Niagara County CC Broome lost 3-2 by set scores of 25-18, 27-29, 25-19, 23-25, 10-15. Stat leaders for the three matches were Tiffany Ostrom (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) with 26 kills, Sarah Raichlin (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) had 89 assists, Shelby Pettersen (Deposit, NY/Deposit Central) added 8 aces,  Marisa Tubaugh (Windsor, NY/Windsor) had 44 digs and Melissa Alden (Warner Robbins, GA/Northside) had 29 blocks. 

Broome (13-9;4-2 MSAC) will host Davis College in the West Gym on Tuesday at 6:00 P.M. in their last home game of the season. The Hornets will be acknowledging sophomores Maddison VanEtten and Shelby Pettersen before the match begins.
