Volleyball Season Ends At The NJCAA Region III Tournament
The volleyball team's season came to a close this weekend in Buffalo at the NJCAA Region III Championships hosted by Niagara County CC. Broome defeated Jefferson CC 2-1 by set scores of 31-29, 21-5, 25-19, was swept by Jamestown 22-25, 13-25, 20-25 and topped Onondaga 2-1 by set scores of 25-23, 20-25, 25-17. The Hornets ended pool play with a record of 4-5, good enough for 3rd place in their pool but did not advanced to day two of the tournament.

Madison Delaney-Hammond and Sarah Bobier contributed 24 kills a piece, Sarah Raichlin and Delaney-Hammond had 49 assists apiece, Rachel Mattson totaled 61 digs to go along with 7 aces, Lauren Carpenter totaled 52 digs and Hannah Lazarus contributed 15 blocks and Rachel Ballard chipped in with 9 blocks for the tournament.

Lazarus and Delaney-Hammond were named to the NJCAA All-Region Team and Bobier was named to the All-Tournament Team.

Lauren Carpenter broke 600 digs on the season and led Region III in digs. Lazarus ended the season as the #1 statistical leader in Region III in blocks per set.
