The Hornets earned their fourth consecutive victory in Troy on Saturday in a Region III soccer match by defeating Hudson Valley, 6-0. Kayla Wyckoff recorded her third shutout while facing fourteen shots on goal. In all, six different players figured in the scoring led by Avery Kenyon's two goals and one assist followed by Arianna Michitti's one goal and two assists.

Alisa Cherednichenko started the scoring in the 19th minute by finishing a double assist by Kenyon and Quinn Miller at the far post, slipping a cross by the Viking keeper. Miller then scored her own goal in the 29th minute, duplicating the first goal off a cross by Michitti, assisted by Dana Stepp. The first half ended 2-0 in favor of the Hornets.

Kenyon got her two goals three minutes apart with some skillful play around the goal mouth, one from a rebounded free kick and the other on a breakaway. Michitti assisted the first with a pinpoint pass while the second was unassisted as Kenyon beat her defender to take on the goalkeeper and slide the ball into the lower corner. One minute later Ella Stafford delivered a beautifully bent ball directly into the upper corner of the net for her second goal off a corner kick in the last two games. Four minutes after Stafford's goal Michitti got herself free at the corner of the 18 box and rocketed a ball into the upper right hand corner of the net to finish off the scoring.

The Hornets are in action again this Monday on Alumni Field at 4:00 P.M. against MSAC opponent Corning CC.
