
Women Honored With All-Region And All-American Awards

Two members of the women's track & field team have been recognized for their performances at the NJCAA Region 3 and National Championships.
Ava Schiff was named NJCAA Region 3 All-Region on Friday, for her performance in the women's triple jump at the NJCAA Region 3 Championships on May 3-4. Schiff took 1st place in the event with a distance of 9.79 meters, which set a personal record for Ava.
Aja Jackson was then named an NJCAA All-American twice over the weekend at the NJCAA National Championships. Jackson received the first All-American nod for taking 1st place and being the National Champion in the women's 10,000 meter race with a time of 40:37.64, which set a personal and school record. The second All-American nod was for her 2nd place and National Runner-Up finish in the women's 5,000 meter race with a time of 19:15.53, which was another personal and school record time.
Combined with Riley Precourt, the trio collaborated for eight top-six finishes at the Region 3 Championships. Jackson and Schiff then collaborated for four top-eight finishes at the National Championships. The team came away with 6th place at Regionals and 13th place at Nationals.
