Men's Soccer Shuts Out Alfred State College

Robbie Hoover scored a pair of unassisted goals and Turner Antonakos added the third goal for the Hornets in a soccer match Thursday afternoon in Alfred, NY. Goalkeeper Curtis Richards registered the shutout for the Hornets (4-3) as visiting Broome defeated host Alfred State College (2-5-2), 3-0.

It took the Hornets a little over fifty-three minutes to finally get on the scoreboard with their first goal but only four minutes to net the second, both courtesy of Hoover. The third and final goal came eight minutes later from Antonakos.

Richards made five saves in recording the Hornets fourth win of the year. Broome held a 15-7 advantage in shots for the contest while Alfred held a 5-1 lead in corner kicks.

Broome heads to Troy, NY for 2:00 p.m. scheduled start for the second game of a doubleheader with the women's squad.
