Volleyball Season Preview

The Hornets are looking forward to the kick off of their 2014 season as they face Davis College tonight at 6:00 p.m. in Johnson City.

Under the new coaching staff of Maegen Eddinger and associate coach, Justine Dadamio, the SUNY Broome Womens Volleyball team has been working hard to prepare in the preseason. The Hornets offense will be led by two returning players, Ashleen Speen (Vestal,NY/Vestal) and Miranda Green(Glen Aubrey,NY/Maine-Endwell).  Also returning to the roster is outside hitter, Ashleigh Nelson (Binghamton, NY/Binghamton) who returns after taking a year off in 2013. These veteran players will be supported by a group of talented incoming players.  Paige Redmond (Sidney, NY/Sidney) will run the offense with Maddison VanEtten(Port Crane, NY/Harpursville), and Shelby Pettersen (Deposit, NY/Deposit) defending the net while libero, Marisa Tabaugh (Windsor, NY/Windsor), defends the back court.

"The girls came into the preseason with a strong drive to do their best and they have pushed themselves every practice to be a strong team," Coach Eddinger said. "It is easy to see that this group is very talented but they also have the passion and desire that make seasons great."
