The baseball team played four games against Tompkins Cortland over the weekend, amassing a 3-1 record in those games.

The Hornets won the first three games of the set before dropping the fourth. The series began on Saturday with a doubleheader in Binghamton, NY. The Hornets then traveled to Dryden, NY on Sunday for another doubleheader. Broome pulled off 12-2 and 9-4 victories on Saturday, and then won 16-5 and lost 7-0 on Sunday.

The Panthers started the scoring in game one on Saturday with two runs in the top of the first inning. Broome responded with eight of their own runs in the bottom of the first and held Tompkins Cortland scoreless the rest of the way for a 12-2 final. Peyton Farrell delivered a gem of a performance from the mound, allowing just the two runs (none earned) and walking three while striking out six over 6.0 innings. Nathan Moses was 2-3 with 3 RBIs. Trevor Dennison drove in two additional runs, Daniel Crowley went 2-3 with an RBI, and Jack Symons added an RBI on a sac fly. The Hornets stole 10 bases in the win and logged 10 hits. 

Saturday's game two saw the Panthers score first again, but four runs in the second and third innings for Broome put the home team up 8-2 after three. The Hornets' lead would hold the rest of the way despite Tompkins Cortland outhitting Broome by two. Crowley continued his exceptional day, adding a double and triple and two RBIs. Michael Albertine had a double and drove in two runs as well. Kobe Dela Cruz was 2-3 with an RBI. Kaden Grayson dealt a complete game for the Hornets, giving up just three earned runs and two walks over 7.0 innings. The team added six more stolen bases in the contest.

Broome continued its winning ways in the first leg of the doubleheader on Sunday. After scoring first, Broome trailed 3-2 entering the top of the fifth inning. A seven-run explosion in the fifth and then two runs in the sixth and five runs in the seventh secured the come-from-behind victory for the Hornets. Albertine added to his successful weekend with a 2-3 and 5 RBI performance. The offensive star of the game was Thomas Contrata, who was 3-5 with a double and a home run, for 4 RBIs. It was Contrata's second HR of the season. Tyler Sienko limited the Panthers to just three earned runs over 6.0 innings and struck out five. Contrata added to his offensive display by pitching the seventh inning and recording all of his outs via strikeout. 11 bases were stolen by the Hornets in the contest.

Broome came back down to earth in the fourth and final game of the weekend vs the Panthers. Although the Hornets outhit Tompkins Cortland 4-2 in the game, Broome was shutout 7-0. Dennison, Crowley, and Albertine padded their stats on the weekend with another hit each, and Kaden Grayson secured the fourth Hornet hit. 15 runners were left on base by Broome. The trio of Hornet pitchers combined to walk six Panthers and strikeout four. Joseph Miller pitched the final 2.2 innings of the contest and did not allow a hit or walk and struck out three.

Broome sits at 8-21 after the 3-1 weekend. Next on the schedule is a doubleheader at Erie CC on Thursday at 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM.
